Property Rates Bill Submission (2003)
Geraldine Mettler and Charmaine Mare - Public hearings on the Bill were held during the third week in May 2003. The main issue deals with the power of all municipalities (metro, district and local) to impose rates on properties within their area of jurisdiction. These properties include farms, unused farms, formal and non-formal settlements, state trust land as well as tribal and other forms of communal property.
