Minister Mbandla spoke on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the role South Africa plays in making this a reality, as well as the various pieces of legislation that are currently before Parliament that will assist in realising these rights, as enshrined in our Constitution. She also touched on the pivotal role civil society plays in the protection of children’s rights.
