International Day of Older Persons
- October 1st was chosen by the General Assembly of the United Nations as “International Day of Older Persons” (General Assembly resolution 45/106, 14 December 1990). The General Assembly recognised that elderly are an asset to society and can contribute significantly to the development of human society.
