Project Final Report
In view of the potential for Informal Community Structures (ICSs) in assisting people to access adequate housing, the Community Law Centre together with Saartjie Baartman Centre carried out this research on the role ICSs can play in access to housing for women and girls vulnerable to gender-based violence (GBV) and HIV/AIDS.
The research was carried out in three communities in the Western Cape – Langa, Mfulenei and Manenberg. The research methodology was aimed at producing qualitative results. The research instruments included focus-group discussions, structured and semi-structured interviews and the development of case studies.
