Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children (SBC)
This Project is a joint initiative between the Community Law Centre (Socio-Economic Rights Project and Gender Project) and SBC, which was opened in 1999 with the goal of providing a comprehensive range of services that are safe and accessible to women and children. The SBC accordingly manages direct services (such as a shelter for women experiencing domestic violence) and coordinates on-site partner organizations who provide a range of specialized counseling services on (inter alia) HIV/AIDS as well as economic empowerment programs.
