Clare Ballard joined the CSPRI as a researcher in January 2011. She has a BA LLB from UCT, and an LLM from Cornell University. Her interests and experience are in constitutional law and criminal justice. She clerked for both Justice Sachs and Deputy Chief Justice Moseneke at the Constitutional Court. As a practitioner, she has worked as an attorney at the Centre for Child Law (University of Pretoria) and has prosecuted in the District Attorneys Office, Tompkins County New York.
